Happy Birthday Lily Kate!!!
I have thought about this day and the things I would say for awhile now. However now that I am here, I am so stumped by the fact that you are two that I cannot remember my previous thoughts!!! I will start by saying that I love you. I cannot believe how much I love you!!! Having a girl has been wonderful. You are sweet and a bit sassy and you have stolen your Mommy, brother and Daddy's hearts like you will never know. I love your curls and that cute little dimple that is so subtle on your cheek. You have so many of your Daddy's features!! This past year you have begun to talk, and very well! You talk all the time and your vocabulary expands more and more each day. You have a raspy little voice that we all love to hear. You love to play with your brother, no matter what he is doing. You can switch from hot wheels to baby dolls in an instant; you are so diverse and we love that about you. You love to help. You always want to help me unload the dishwasher, sweep or use your wipes to clean anything. You adore your brother more than I can express. When I pour the two of you milk, you always want to take his cup to him. You offer him your toys (most of the time) and if he is engrossed in something other than you you do your best to get in the middle of that thing. You are very good at apologizing, I rarely have to ask you twice. Aside from your love for us, you adore your dog beyond belief. You curl up next to him with your lovie. When you are coloring you make sure to show it to him. You strive to share everything with him. Whenever you see him, you literally light up. You love to throw the ball for him to fetch and of course you love to tell him "no" just as much. You are such a little mama!!! You love to sing!! While most children like a book before bedtime, you love to sing songs. What a year and how fast it has gone. This is the first birthday that I have felt sad about. I just don't want you to grow up!!! I want you to stay this way forever!!! I love you so much...I can't kiss and hug you enough. You light up my life little girl...I love you!!! Happy Birthday!!!

Surcies from Daddy
Daddy got home Friday from a two week long trip to DC for a class. No, he didn't see the Pope, but he did bring us all back some surcies!!! Mac is officially obsessed with his Secret Service/Presidential vehicle set and Lily Kate loved her Barney (the Bush's black scottish terrier)replica (complete with carrying bag, as I am sure Laura Bush has the exact same thing and uses it just as religiously as Paris Hilton). He had a great time. He made it to a Washington Nationals game, a tour of the white house grounds, many monuments and memorials; you get the picture. Anywho, we are glad to have Daddy back safe and sound and hope this is the last work trip for awhile! Oh yeah, and Daddy brought this back for Mommy....
Just kidding..he didn't get this in DC, but we did trade in the ol' Van. We just couldn't keep a vehicle that had major frame damage. According to Daddy, his manhood has been reclaimed!!!

Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen reasons why April is quickly becoming one of my most favorite months!!!
1. It's my baby girl's birthday month!!! I can't believe she will be two next week! It is also my Dad's birthday month...the more cake the merrier!!
2. Easter, well usually. This year it fell early, but often Easter is in April and it is one of my favorite holidays.
3. Storms. April showers bring May flowers!! I love a good thunderstorm. I love to watch it roll in, the smell, the thunder and lightening, the darkness, all of it. Can you tell I grew up in the south where we always welcomed the rain?
4. Flip flops. Okay, so you can almost wear them year around here, but come on, they have been put up for two months. Two whole months!!
5. St Paul's Tea Room. Oh, this year was only my second year going, but I have been looking forward to it since last year. The best tomato pie ever..I even eat the crust!
6. Warmer weather. It is officially warmer in April. Not to hot, not too cold, just right!
7. Lower pollen count. For all of the suffering you endure in March, April is welcome with open arms. Rough.
8. Everything's green. Suddenly you are driving down the road and everything is so crisp and green like the trees have bloomed overnight. It is so nice!!!
9. Flowertown Festival. This is awesome and is always the first month of April. It is packed...by far the best town festival I have ever been to. Great food, great vendors, rides for the kids, etc. Did I mention the awesome kettle corn??? Check out our pics below from this years trip.
10. Less clothes. Short sleeve shirts, skirts and shorts. Ahhhh, the comfort.
11. Shopping. This is always on my list of "favorites". Since my birthday is in March and I always get money, I always use it to go shopping. Spring clothes are my very, very favorite to shop for!!
12. Tax time. For some it is dreaded but not so much this year for us. We did really good and with the stimulus package, everybody did good. The refunds are usually rolling in by this month. Plus those hokey tax filing commercials can now stop.
13. Longer days. Well, this officially fell earlier too this year. However I became desperate for a #13 so there you go.
